| If you had to pick a single from Daedelus's latest, Denies The Day's Demise, you couldn't go much better than "Sundown." It's a really lush and beautiful track that starts with washes of gentle electronics, muffled vocals and heaps of Brazilian sounding percussion - before breaking down into a roaring crowd noise and taking off at double speed again. Producing under the name Dark Party, Hefty Records favorite Elliott Lipp crafts the whole thing into something for the dancefloor, landing somewhere between Hefty territory and the rave cave. Diplo's remix floats some berimbau in and out of the mix for a minute, then drops the heavy baile funk drum weapons underneath and blows the whole shit up. Lulu Mushi adds a remix as well, which strips the thing bare in favor of mad Brazilian batucada percussion, with maybe a lil touch of gamelan for good measure. - Turntable Lab |
