| The opening track, ‘Sonic Sound’, drives with a Public Enemy sounding breakbeat with a Chuck D style sample, “I’m not anybody’s person, sonic sounds!” ‘Sonic Sound’ then breaks down into ‘He's Back’s’ big synth wash that quickly fades into a massive staccato beat and then a bunch of weird sounds. Then there’s the dark and dusty ‘Perpetual Pursuit’ followed by the metalbox sounding breaks of “Lyrical Gunplay’ featuring the lyrics of hip-hop’s poet laureate, Saul Williams. My favorite track so far is the warped out Balearic gem, ‘The Storm Before The Calm’ with dark synth strings and experimental sounds. - Beatnerd |
