MH-247 Thavius Beck - Thru  Thavius Beck returns with his signature blend of mind bending experimental hip-hop and dark synth-driven industrial electronics on his new release Thru. Featuring thirteen tracks of densely layered samples, pulsating synths, and dizzying delay plastered over frantic drum tracks, the album builds on the sound established in his breakout release, Decomposition. In addition to providing vocals on two tracks himself, Thavius collaborates with touring partner and hip-hop's poet laureate, Saul Williams, folk-songstress Mia Doi Todd, Los Angeles staple 2Mex, and up-and-coming MC Nocando on individual tracks. | Thavius Beck mixes crunchy rhythms with dark synths to make hip-hop that at times can be maybe a touch too intense... On Thru, there are no breaths or pauses to places to reflect on the sounds you're hearing. Its all there all the time. I imagine Thavius Beck's music to be something like a monster tsunami's waves and undertows... the lyricists on this album (including thavius himself) ride that wave with skill and dexteriety, their voices provide a necessary counterpoint to the storm brewing underneath.
