Wow, I was having the hardest time figuring out which track I wanted to post up. EVERY song on this album is amazing! If Eliot Lipp were to put out singles EVERY song could be a single. I’m not joking around here people. I’m dead serious. If you’re not doing anything productive right now I suggest you pick up his album The Outside before you even finishing the rest of this! This album sounds AMAZING. For all you Los Angelinos who haven’t heard of this guy I know you’ll be happy to hear that he was a fellow LA citizen. He was also heavily influenced by Hip Hop growing up and it’s quite evident in his production style. His sound consists of various analog synths so you hear that fat warmth throughout. He was discovered and has worked heavily with Scott Herren aka Prefuse 73. He has various releases under different labels including Warp, and Easter Developments. Alright, so I decided that The Outside is my favorite. It’s got a laid back, yet energetic feel. There’s a lot of space between the loudest and quietest part of the track which I like because it give you a lot of room to breath and it’s not overwhelming. The drums hit hard, it’s got this catchy pumping bass line, and the synth lead keeps you wondering but guides you throughout the entire song. Enjoy! - Deftune
