| Anyone who has heard Marc Bianchi’s waxings before is bound to be a bit surprised, maybe even shocked by this. The previous laptop driven electronic compositions are gone, replaced by a series of real songs – with real instruments – guitars, bass, mandolin, you name it really. The results are extremely rewarding – a sort of call to arms for the geeks, with lots of marching rhythms and motivational mantras. A fine record, but perhaps a bit of a jar for people who like laptop bleeps. But then, Erlend Oye got away with it, so why not? - Subba Cultcha |
