| For those of us who have watched in admiration over the years as Mush Records has released a variety of music both on the beat side and the indie / dream side, this release is for us. If you've never really indulged in the Mush experience before, this is a great place to start. Mixed by the fantavius Thavius Beck, the compilation is divided into two (seriously) long tracks: the first represents the folk-glitch, post-rock, shoegaze, dream-pop side of Mush (43:51 minutes). The second track is beat-heavy and glitched: the hip-hop and electro face of the label (38:49 minutes). All together it plays like a dream soundtrack (first track) and lifestyle soundtrack for your boomin' system as you roll around downtown (second track). - Spacelab |
