MH-028 Busdriver - Avantcore "Avantcore," the lead single from Busdriver's new full-length release, Fear Of A Black Tangent is a comment on the state of hip-hop including the pompousness, pretension, simple-minded bickering, and internal politics that encompass the business at every level from indie to mainstream. The single also includes two bonus tracks from the full-length: "Happiness('s Unit Of Measurement)" and "Unemployed Black Astronaut." Three top shelf remixes are included on the B-Side as D-Styles of Invisbl Skratch Piklz fame, Warp's Prefuse 73, and Los Angeles producer Nobody take on one track each.

Espresso-tempoed LA rapping might not seem the obvious candidate for your blue-room, but that's discounting the wonders that Nobody performs here. The LA based soft-rock fan adds a great slab of acoustic lushness to Busdriver's signature tune - strings last heard on Zero 7's mix of Lambchop's "Up With People" - while leaving the frenetic rhyming intact.
