| Radioinactive and his crew of musicians, singers and oddballs constitute rap's world service when they sample reproduce and otherwise muck about with an incredible range of global grooves ranging from mambo through to Greek folk. Too many rap records are the products of contracts and corporate couplings between emcees, producers and the lack of any personal or creative rapport during such collaborations is evident in often adequate but rarely impressive material. "Pyramidi" on the other hand, emits a vibe like a band of kindred spirits huddled around a marijuana bonfire, and yes, you can smell the smoke coming through your speakers! True, it's difficult to fathom what, if anything, a lot of this means; but a lot of the time, who cares when it sounds so dreamy. - UK Hip-Hop |
