| Vallen Hope is the debut album from the Dutch artist whose previous output includes releases on Planet Mu and Colony. 12 tracks of beautifully imagined and immaculately created clinging electronic sound that could easily sit among the current roster of labels like Hefty or Thrill Jockey. With rays of early 90's pop and rock shining through the contemporary digital frequencies, this engaging set veers between noise and ambient with elements of squelchy hip-hop, hazy melodic mists and even pushes into a post-rock zone normally inhabited by the likes of Mogwai or Godspeed, all the while carefully balanced between uptempo blasts and moments of calm. - Rough Trade |
