MH-027 Daedelus & Boom Bip - 28:06:42:12 During the presidential election of 1988, a teenager named Donnie Darko sleepwalks out of his house one night and sees a giant, demonic rabbit who tells him the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds. Electronic auteur Daedelus and Mush Records' founding sound collagist Boom Bip use Richard Kelly's film as inspiration for this limited split seven-inch project. Both artists display a refined brilliance in their handling and reworking of the source material. This is the second Mush limited edition seven-inch.

Beautiful, eerie music from Donnie Darko, re-jigged by the Daedelus and Boom Bip, a side a piece. It's got a cinema still from the film on the front and the Daedelus mix is the most lovely thing. Skittery beats & strangeness oozing from it's every pore whilst the incidental soundtrack twinkles in the background. The Boom Bip side is more obtuse and baffling but still refreshing. Called "28:06:42:12" after the coded time and date till the end of the world, this is one for avant hip-hop buffs and DD fanatics alike. A lovely record! - Norman Records
