| cLOUDDEAD step back in the game after receiving worldwide props for their self-titled debut LP in 2001. The trio, consisting of Doseone, why? and odd nosdam are now presenting their sophomore album Ten on Mush/Big Dada - set to serve as the final acclaim despite the crew's break-up(s) and different solo projects released during the past few years. Serving as the main appetite teaser for Ten, is this new piece of wax entitled Dead Dogs Two. It's a perfect serve, actually. "Dead Dogs Two" is transgressive hip-hop in its presumably most purest form and it's a joy encountering the trio's individual spirits presenting a track that reflects many emotions and feelings. A great one. Included here is also "Mulholland Instrumental" (with Jerry Jel Logan and Jordan Dalrymple), a crazy composition probably not suited for the intolerant fan - but probably candy for the most dedicated. The flipside alone is dedicated to the Boards of Canada remix of "Dead Dogs Two," a remix that actually takes much of the original's key vibes and transforms them into a somewhat splendid remix. - Boom Bap |
