| Far beneath the radar you'll find California label Mush records, which has just released a dense and eclectic ensemble recording from Busdriver and Radioinactive with producer Daedelus. The Weather is a sonic crazy quilt of lickety-split free association ("According to the status of my migraine / You've been surveying me in your spy plane"), off-time beats and skits that are actually intelligent. The album works by keeping one foot each in two different worlds. It is hip-hop and purists should admire the lyrical dexterity and thick production. But it is something else - something between art and entertainment - and at its best it blurs the distinction between the two. - Dallas Morning News |
