| It's comforting to know that, in a time where so much importance is placed on innovation, there's still a place for one man and his guitar to sing about heartbreak. Marc Bianchi, aka Her Space Holiday, has made an effortless-sounding record that encapsulates why most of us have been trying so hard to write pop songs since we were 13. "The Year In Review" mixes the delicate, scratchy steel-string charm of Ben Kweller with Weezer-esque playfulness. It's a quintessentially American beatnik album with the messiest and scuzziest bits of early Adam Green, Bright Eyes and Daniel Johnston strained through Beck's back catalogue. Back to basics. - NME |
