| Mush Records has successfully harnessed the skills of the most out-there and talented individuals in hip-hop. Ropeladder 12 is weaved together superbly by its creative and star-studded roster. This is the album that people are afraid to put together. Featuring the work of most of the Anticon roster, along with heavyweights Radioinactive, Aesop Rock, Labtekwon, Apani and a select group others, this album has fun exploring the imagination of its artists. This album is an important release. The ensemble of artists represents a group of music makers at their best. The production is very good, and each star is able to shine according to their particular style. The album is incredibly solid and at times mind-blowing. The talented producers do a unique array of musical styles, while the emcee's switch up constantly. Ropeladder 12 is beautifully made with the liner notes containing lyrics to all of the songs, enabling the listener to really understand what the artist has to say. This album is about platforming a generation, and it worked. - 4th District |
