| Clue To Kalo is the brainchild of Australian songwriter Mark Mitchell, though this rich musical tapestry features contributions from various other musicians too. Written and recorded over a period of two years One Way, It's Every Way shares a lot of stylistic qualities with early Beta Band and Mùm with heavily layered instrumental and vocal tracks creating something that seems quite minimal. Though recorded on computer and using programming throughout, it's difficult to describe this as an electronic album, even on tracks like "The Tense Changes" where there is almost no live instrumentation. What Mitchell has created is something very loose and organic in a way that few electronic artists (the ones who attempt it) ever manage. - Indigo Flow |
