| If you're looking for an album to compliment a rainy-day malaise or help you think through crestfallen times, pick up a copy of One Way, It's Every Way. Clue to Kalo's second full-length album creates a pleasant aura of melancholic moods and quietly upbeat electronic sounds. The brainchild of Mark Mitchell and his laptop, the latest Clue to Kalo release blends traditional rock instruments with cleverly orchestrated folk sounds from organs, accordions, strings, flutes, recorders and other classical instruments for an ambitious, contemplative reflection on death. It is an album to which you can lie down, close your eyes and get lost in your thoughts. The LP was recorded over a two-year period of "great personal change," according to 23-year-old Mitchell. Begun in his hometown of Adelaide, Australia, the CD was completed in Brooklyn, NY over a four-month period. The sophomore work will pull at your heartstrings and carry you back to nostalgic places in the best of ways. - Metro.Pop |
