| Loopy beats and rhymes from LA's Radioinactive and collaborators including vocalist Anisa Qureshi. Thirty-one tracks over seventy minutes long make Pyramidi a full-length endeavor best picked apart and slowly absorbed in multiple sittings. To his credit, Radioinactive supplies plenty of jazzy abstract rap treats, particularly "Launch Padlock Smithereen," "Be Fulfilled," and "Mud." Like other members of the Shapeshifters, Radioinactive rocks a brain-freeze-inducing monotone delivery, spitting elliptical verses with the speed of a high school debate team captain. Thankfully, his strong production skills make "Pyramidi" go down easier than most avant hip-hop albums. - Urb |
