| Producer Boom Bip and emcee Doseone are both masters of discursive, elliptical hip-hop. Here they present their first album project, the lengthy format of which has given them an opportunity to really flex their imaginations. And Circle is nothing if not imaginative. Edgy, eldritch and mind-bogglingly evanescent, this is hip-hop taken to an extreme, retaining the genre's core spirit but stretching it into bizarre and sometimes grotesque new shapes. One part hip-hop, one part audio theatre and one part crafted genius, Circle is not for the faint hearted but will keep the headstrong occupied for quite some time. - DJ |
