| Marc Bianchi's latest magnum opus of what Jack Black's character in High Fidelity would call "sad bastard music," which must make me one miserable bitch, since I find it easy to revel in its maudlin melodies, broken-hearted sentiments and melancholy moods. It's quite possibly the break-up album of the year. Songs about masochistic girls are positively heart wrenching ("Japanese Gum"), as are his self-pitying observations, obviously borrowing from his new heroes Aesop Rock and Slug. Yeah, it's good. - Urb |
