| Wave Motion' is the first full-length instrumental release from Fat Jon, best known for his association with the Five Deez. A mellow, jazzy album, Jon adds embellishments like various vocal samples and snippets of familiar instrumentation over emphasized bass lines (it is, after all, hip-hop), which enables him to avoid the instrumental album pitfall of overused melodic lines. Hip-hop fans used to dissecting lyrics will enjoy the new challenge of picking apart the sounds in this multi-layered labor of love. Speaking of which - three words: great sex album. - CMJ |
