| Fat Jon's latest, Wave Motion, is an exploration of turntable-based music - not just scratches and beats pasted together to create three-minute loops, but actual music. Jon employs the tenets of cool bop style jazz and early 70's soul to create deep and involved instrumental hip-hop. It is music replete with chord and timing changes, rhythmic shifts and a certain life that actually seems to breathe. - Synthesis |
