| Though uninitiated for a spell, I've come across Busdriver's third proper Fear of a Black Tangent. Hyper-wordy gurdy, more lyrics in the single than on an entire J-Kwon record. Project Blowed late pass possessor and Acey disciple gets manic over strumming, billowy beats. Nothing stomps, if it did, you'd feel weird about your surroundings like the first night with your future in-laws at dinner. If you get migraines, Busdriver is your personal anti-hero, luring hearts, smashing minds. On Fear of a Black Tangent he recruits Prefuse 73 and Danger Mouse for skittish shit and synth hits. The best stuff comes courtesy of longtime collaborator Daedelus though. Noz dropped the first single "Avantcore" a couple weeks ago, a jukejoint lullaby produced by Paris Zax about being fucking indie, motherfucker, so hand me that zine and get off my back you rotten Urban Outfitted asshat. I have solemnity and angst. Even though I walk around with nothing on but boxer shorts and Aviators. Step off. - The Mack |
