| cLOUDDEAD is the combination of Doseone, why? and odd nosdam. In late 2000/early 2001 they released a series of six ten-inches, including apt. A, and all you can do is laugh, and I promise never to get paint on my glasses again. It is very difficult to describe these ten-inches due to the sheer depth and variety each one presents. On one side, you might have the multi-layered harmonizing of why? over some obscure computer game music, on another you'll have some amazing Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works style aural landscape melodies, and on another you will hear Dose and why? singing about the remarkable physics of a bicycle. When I say difficult to describe, don't get the wrong idea - I just mean that words just can't describe what is going on here. I find it just beautiful and some of the most thought provoking work I've heard for a long time. I would say that they will make you glad you ever started listening to music. Buy them quick - rumour has it that when they are gone, they will not be restocked. - Rough Trade |
