| Clue to Kalo is Aussie Mark Mitchell, and throughout the tracks his programming and love for a tuneful melody comes through. Most tracks take about a minute to get going, with quiet guitar and unfinished beats, Mitchell breathes life into folky tunes with scratchy drums, undulating synth chimes, warped speech samples and beautifully conceived chord sequences. Highlight is "Within Reach of My Own Arms," with junkyard rhythms and delicate sweet melodies. If such a thing is possible. - Future Music |
