| Coming to us from literally the other side of the world, it's unclear how Clue to Kalo, aka Australia's Mark Mitchell, found his way from down under to the Mush label. The artist represents the lighter side of the dark imprint's vision, melancholy compared to the likes of cLOUDEAD and Radioinactive. Come Here When You Sleepwalk is accessible in a very Pet Sounds manner, with dreamy melt-in-your-ear melodies that are full and saturated. There's been a flood of Four Tet-ish folky-electronic music lately, but despite that, his programmed goodness and homebrewed vocals recorded with crappy microphones spice the mix up with enough grit to satisfy, even after the initial appeal of the hooks wears off. "It's true that I'm not fine" he sings on "Do You Know That Love Can End?" - Boston's Weekly Dig |
